Add long-term protection and gloss to your paint after our paint correction services

What is a Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating technology has been around since the 1950s, but it is a somewhat new product to the car detailing world. From the time automobiles started being produced until the early 2000s, paste wax was the only way to enhance your car's shine and protect the paint from outside elements. The drawback to this is that most waxes only last about 4-6 months and have to be applied a few times a year to keep your car looking new.

This is where ceramic coating technology comes in to provide your vehicle with a much longer-lasting form of protection. There are many different forms of ceramic coating that last different amounts of time ranging from 9 months all the way to 9 years. At Eminent Auto Detailing we provide three different ceramic coating options (1 year, 5 year, and 7 year).

We only apply long-term ceramic coatings after doing our 1-step or 2-step paint protection service to ensure that we are not locking in swirls and scratches in the paint. We also want to make sure we have properly prepped the surface beforehand, so the coating adheres to the paint properly and lasts as long as possible. Ceramic coatings shouldn't be applied in sunlight or when the weather is too hot or cold. This is why we do all of our coating jobs at our shop location so we have as much control over the environment as possible.

What Are the Benefits of Ceramic Coatings?

  • Provides the longest form of protection possible (1-9 years)

  • Leaves your paint with a deep level of gloss that other forms of protection cannot provide

  • Provides the most hydrophobic properties possible making it easier to clean your car in the future

Common Misconceptions About Ceramic Coatings

While ceramic coatings are the best form of protection you can apply to your vehicle, aside from PPF, people make some pretty outrageous claims about ceramic coatings that aren't true.

  • Ceramic Coatings Don't Prevent Rock Chips: The impact of a small rock being flung at your vehicle while moving at high speeds is not something that any kind of wax, sealant, or ceramic coating is going to be able to stop.

  • Your Paint Will Not Become "Scratch-Proof": After the application of a ceramic coating, you still need to use a safe wash method when cleaning your car to prevent swirls and scratches.

  • Ceramic Coatings Do Require Maintenance: For the ceramic coating to last as long as possible, it will need to have a ceramic booster occasionally applied to maintain the coating.

Ceramic Coating FAQs

Do you have a shop?

Yes, we have a shop location in Arvada where customers can drop off their vehicles to be serviced. The address is 5435 W 59th Ave and we are in unit M.

Can a ceramic coating replace my clear coat?

If you notice that your clear coat is starting to peel and crack from being exposed to the sun, this is not something a ceramic coating will be able to fix or replace.

Do you require a deposit?

For our paint correction services, we do require a nonrefundable $100 deposit that will later be applied to the cost of the service. This will be paid when you come in for a quote and we do a test spot on the vehicle to show you the results we will be able to achieve.

Can I get the ceramic coating applied without prep/paint correction?

We do not recommend applying a long-term ceramic coating to a car without doing our 1-step or 2-step paint correction service beforehand. Without the proper prep, the coating will be locking in swirls and scratches and also will not last as long as it should.

How long should I wait to wash my car?

To ensure the coating fully cures to the paint, the car shouldn't get wet for 48 hours and you should wait one week before washing the car again.
